We invite suitably qualified candidates to apply for the Project Manager position under Testing and Commissioning . The position will report to the Head of Testing and Commissioning and is based in Dunnottar.
Job Purpose
- Ensure the acceptance of the trains by PRASA following the PMS schedule
- Provide feedback to external stakeholders
- Systematic & Efficient handing over of trains from Manufacturing to Testing and ensure final Customer acceptance as per contract.
- Ensuring that the Testing documents are submitted to the client and to all the relevant stakeholders timeously
- Ensure respect of EHS requirements, procedures and process
Key Responsibilities
- Respect and promote strict compliance with EHS rules, local regulations and AZDP
- Deploy standards T&C processes
- Contribute to T&C team management
- Ensuring a good working relationship with the other departments (Engineering, Industrial Quality, Supply Chain)
- Provide technical support and expertise to the Serial Team
- Manage the project T&C QCD (Financial and operation targets).
- Ensure that Customer Acceptance Criteria has been taken on board by Engineering
- Manage the interface with the customer with respect to all T&C part of the project.
- Ensure commissioning execution on the customer site
- Handle Escalation from direct reports during the Testing & Commissioning phase of the project.
- Ensure that Handing over process is defined and followed systematically and continuously reviewed and improved.
- Develop appropriate risk analysis, mitigation plan and associated EHS procedures
- Manage the development of test documentation, procedures in configuration with the applicable configuration, among others for the project variants
- Manage the development of all necessary tools (physical and IT) required for test execution and test management.
- Manage the development and/or adaptation of the facilities and infrastructure for test execution
- Ensure the timely deployment of test procedures, tools, infrastructure
- Ensure proper operation follow-up and establishment of relevant KPI
- Serial Testing
- Ensure timely execution of serial testing and associated troubleshooting
- Ensure delivery of proper documentation after test execution
- Ensure strict compliance with EHS rules and regulations within testing workshop and dynamic test track
- Other job functions as required by management
- Definition of the expected vehicles configuration and quality level at the “Hand Over from Manufacturing line milestone.
- To create contract T&C documentation (tests programs, tests description, delivery planning, acceptance criteria, jigs and special tools, records, associated workload and workstation organisation (TAKT)) based on contractual and design technical requirements.
- To supervise the global customer acceptance performance, for the T&C scope of work, integrating components and sub-systems contributions.
- To insure, by early contact with Engineering, the testability of the trains/vehicles.
- To comply with project’s T&C QCD commitments, acting as Work Package Owner, in compliance with SPR process.
- Efficient and transparent interface with the Warranty Implementation teams working in customer’s depots, to get the QCD data for the commissioning activities performed by WI.
- Ensures EHS is fully considered in project T&C scope.
- Reports Deviations, Near-misses and Accidents.
- To capture and report non-conformities and ensuring they are properly managed and closed, liaising with engineering, validation, RAMS, manufacturing and site Quality.
- To insure REX is fully taken into account
Minimum Requirements
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in Testing & Commissioning of Electrical, Control, onboard communications & network systems within process industry, railways or factory automation
Special Requirements
To carry out technical support and maintenance on 24/7 shift & on-call basis (night, day, weekend).
