HR Operations Manager - Cape Town Southern Subs
Preference will be given to Candidates residing in Cape Town.
Salary: R1m p/a CTC depending on experience.
My client, a market leader in the blowmoulding & plastics extrusion sector, is urgently looking for an HR Operations Manager (senior role) preferably from the Plastics Manufacturing / Plastics Extrusion / Blowmoulding sector.
Job Purpose
The HR Operations Manager is pivotal in aligning HR functions with the company’s strategic goals. This role involves embedding HR best practices, optimizing systems, driving transformation initiatives, and fostering a high-performance culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Client's People's Manual Implementation
- Roll out and entrench the client People’s Manual across the organization.
- Conduct training sessions to promote compliance.
- Drive HR transformation and continuous improvement initiatives. - Performance Management
- Implement performance management frameworks to support transformation goals.
- Guide managers in setting measurable objectives and providing continuous feedback.
- Analyse performance data to identify trends and improvements. - HR Operations and Systems Optimization
- Lead HR systems optimization, including recruitment, onboarding, payroll, and lifecycle management.
- Ensure compliance with labour laws and internal policies.
- Drive workforce planning and HR service delivery improvements. - Employee Relations and Engagement
- Champion initiatives to enhance employee morale, engagement, and retention.
- Address employee relations issues fairly and consistently.
- Implement well-being and diversity programs. - Leadership and Collaboration
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior management.
- Develop and lead the HR operations team.
- Collaborate with production and operations teams for seamless alignment. - Transitional Initiatives
- Oversee payroll migration to a digital platform (PaySpace, November 2024).
- Develop and manage talent acquisition and retention strategies.
- Manage BBBEE compliance and audits.
Qualifications and Skills
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in HR or a related field.
Experience
- Minimum 5 years in senior HR management roles.
- Generalist HR and specialist Industrial Relations (IR) expertise.
Competencies
- Strong knowledge of HR and IR practices.
- Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and strategic planning skills.
- Proficiency in performance management and HR systems.
- Strong communication skills in English and Afrikaans.
Additional Information
- The role requires a proactive leader with strong business acumen, analytical capabilities, and emotional intelligence.
- Experience in digital HR transformation is advantageous.
