We have a position available for an Underwriting Analyst who will be based in Cape Town (Head Office) in our Santam Broker Solutions: Underwriting (Personal Lines) department.
What will make you successful in this role?
The purpose of the role is to support Personal Lines:
- Performance of POST Action analytical Data reviews.
- Manage the Client Screening system.
- Approval of Discount Mandates.
- Performance analysis of data and identification of corrective actions.
- Engage with Actuarial to drive growth and improve profitability.
- Analyse and build statistical models for various sets of data on regular basis to assist in determining business trends.
- Assist with report and process automation.
- Pro-actively identifies phenomena to be tested and explored.
- Monitor results of all action plans implemented.
- Analytical support to internal divisions (Underwriting Services – SBS/SCS).
- Report writing and presentations.
- Manage data cleansing and data quality control.
Qualifications and Experience
- Degree in Statistics/Mathematics is preferred.
- Strong analytical capability is a critical core requirement.
- Strong Programming Skills.
- Experience with reporting tools (Power BI, Qlik, Business Objects, Cognos).
- Advanced Computer Literacy.
- 7 to 10 years post qualification working experience will be an added advantage.
