Job & Company Descriptions: A retail company is looking for a Financial Accountant to join their finance team. In this role, you will be instrumental in managing and overseeing the financial health of the organization.
As a
Financial Accountant you will responsible for the following:
- Maintain precise and up-to-date financial records in line with local accounting standards, regulations, and company policies.
- Manage the general ledger, ensuring accurate classification of financial transactions.
- Reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies efficiently and promptly.
- Maintain the chart of accounts and recommend improvements when necessary.
- Prepare management accounts and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Perform month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Reconcile bank statements, accounts receivable, and accounts payable to verify the accuracy and completeness of financial data.
- Monitor and analyze financial performance against budgets, forecasts, and key performance indicators (KPIs), providing insights and actionable recommendations to management.
- Assist in preparing budgets, forecasts, and financial projections to support strategic decision-making and planning.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including finance team members and department heads, to streamline financial processes and drive efficiency.
- Support external audits and ensure regulatory compliance by providing required documentation and explanations.
- Stay up to date with changes in accounting standards, tax laws, and regulatory requirements to ensure the organization remains compliant.
- Identify areas for process improvement and implement best practices to enhance the overall efficiency and effectiveness of financial operations.
Job Experience and Skills Required: Completed Bcom in Finance
Completed SAIPA or SAICA articles
Minimum 1 - 2 years post articles experience
Retail experience would be beneficial
