Position Overview
The Middle School & High School Library & Media Specialist is responsible for managing both the MS and HS libraries. The aim is to foster a love of reading, promote information literacy, and ensure equitable access to diverse resources. This position collaborates with teachers to integrate technology and digital resources into the curriculum, while also curating diverse learning materials and creating engaging library programs. The Specialist serves as a leader in instructional technology integration and developing students’ digital literacy. The AISJ Middle School and High School Librarian uses the ALA/AASL standards.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor or higher of Library and Information Science (ALA accredited institution Preferred)
- Bachelor of Education or higher
- Secondary degree and license and/or certification in Library
- Coaching, service learning, and club facilitation

Work Hours: Monday through Friday – 188 (one hundred and eighty-eight) days per school year
