Job Title: Chief Engineer
About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Engineer to join our team at Fairmont The Palm. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of all mechanical systems within the hotel.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintenance and Repair: Responsible for maintaining all equipment and systems in correct operational status, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
- Preventive Maintenance: Develop and implement a comprehensive preventive maintenance program to ensure that all guest rooms, public areas, and safety systems are properly maintained.
- Energy Management: Forecast and manage the hotel's energy and water usage, and identify opportunities to reduce costs.
- Project Management: Coordinate renovation projects and develop emergency programs as needed.
- Leadership: Oversee the engineering department and provide guidance and support to team members.
- Budgeting: Prepare and control the monthly and annual engineering department budget.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years experience in chief engineer position.
- Pools water chemistry knowledge is required.
- Knowledge of computerized energy management systems is preferred.
- HVAC (Heating/Ventilation and Air Conditioning) background is an asset.

Salary Range
AED 180,000 - AED 220,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
