Introduction
An exciting career opportunity exists at Medipost for a Cluster Pharmacist Assistant (M01) in Order Processing, this position is based in Gezina.
Primary purpose of the job
- Providing proper patient care as per GPP (Good pharmacy practice) regulations.
- Attending training on pharmacy acts and GPP.
- Attending of SOP training and SOP revision training.
- Compliance with the POPI Act regulations.
- Compliance with Company Policies, Procedures and SOP’s.
- Accurate capturing of chronic and acute medication prescriptions and handling of rejections according to company SOP’s.
- Attention to detail when handling rejections with special emphasis on claim responses.
- Attend to cluster and personal action diaries.
- Compliance to SLA requirements (completing of mailbox profiles, action diaries within required timelines).
- Handling of clinical discussion and/or enquiries with patients and health care professionals or SPN’s.
- Attend to and respond in a professional manner to email messages or enquiries received from management, SPN’s or members.
- Attend to OUT OF WIP notifications.
- Prioritise rejected prescriptions and templates from Blind checking in order to ensure SLA compliance.
- Stock management – understanding the cold chain processes, expiry dates, stock returns.
- Participate in small group discussions and training by pharmacists.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 with English and an additional official language with a minimum pass rate of 50%.
- Mathematics with a minimum pass rate of 50%.
- Qualified Post Basic Pharmacist Assistant / Learner Post Basic Pharmacist Assistant (with completion of training at an accredited Training Academy).
- SAPC registration.
Training Required
Training on company systems (e.g. Medipost APP, on-line authorisation system and procedures, ESS, etc).

Specific Requirements
- Expected output during probation period communicated by line manager, as per career path level.
- An understanding of the implications of errors and service failures in a pharmacy environment.
- Performance / Disciplinary interventions will be applicable if service failures are not maintained at an average of 0 to 0.75 per month, which equates to a maximum of 3 service failures over a 4-month period.

- Willingness to work overtime when required by management.
- Continuous professional development – attending training or forums.
- Attend to group pharmacist-initiated activities.
- Willingness to assist with stock take if required at least once per year.
- Willingness to assist or attend training in other departments such as the Walk in Pharmacy and Production.
- Inter-departmental training and assistance as needed.
