Exports & Logistics Manager
Closing Date : 2022-09-29 Closed : Yes Description: Our client, a prestigious wine farm situated in Stellenbosch, is looking for an Export and Logistics Manager with excellent planning, organisational, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work accurately under pressure. The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall supply chain management function. Duties will include:
- Managing storage of wine, stock take and stock control (including Estate outlets)
- Planning and scheduling of labelling and related SAWIS administration
- Dry goods stock management (processing orders, liaising with suppliers, drawing up production schedules, coordinating procurement stock)
- Manage, track and coordinate export/logistic processes (local & international shipments)
- Preparing Wine online/SAWIS documentation related to export and domestic shipments
- Logistics administration (including transfer of stocks between warehouses, delivery notes and relevant documentation)
- Sending samples, loading of consignments and associated administration
- Supervising cellar/warehouse staff, including timesheets/overtime etc.
- Managing relationship between agents: governmental departments, freight forwarders and distributors
- Maintaining effective relationships and communication channels with logistics and distribution partners
- Assist Sales & Marketing team with export quotations via air, sea and road and other requests
- Assisting Estate with import/export logistics operations not related to wine department
- All other tasks related to the position.
Essential qualifications, skills and experience:
- Tertiary qualification in Logistics or similar;
- 4-5 years’ experience in a similar role;
- Knowledge of wine online, SAWIS documentation and export regulations;
- Strong computer skills (MS Office, specifically Microsoft Excel);
- Valid driver's license and own reliable transport (forklift license advantageous).
