The Opportunity
As head of brand, you will manage, maintain and promote the brand of South Africa’s premier enterprise payments technology company. You will be working with leading banks, retailers and mobile network operators at a time when the payments industry is undergoing unprecedented innovation. You will be part of a highly motivated and ambitious leadership team, who have an incredible track record of consistent growth.
Electrum is growing and we are looking for you to add your passion for brand building and technology to the marketing team.
The role
The role will cover both brand and communications management and includes supervising a team of marketing specialists, approving marketing elements such as positioning, messaging, visual artefacts, advertising, and coordinating with product marketers on appropriate branding.
- Create and implement comprehensive brand communication strategies that align with Electrum's goals and objectives
- Manage media relations and activities, and handle crisis communications to protect and enhance the brand's reputation
- Lead the development of engaging content for digital and traditional channels
- Manage the brand and communications team
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including internal departments, external partners, and industry influencers.
- Monitor the effectiveness of the communication strategy by analysing data for insights.
- Prepare and manage budgets aligned to the brand and communication strategy, ensure that resources are allocated efficiently to achieve desired outcomes.
Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree with postgraduate qualifications, preferably in communications and marketing
- A minimum of 5 years experience spanning brand management and communications
- Preference will be given to marketing, brand management and complex B2B experience within the enterprise financial services software industry
- Experience leading a marketing team
- Experience in working with 3rd party vendors, for example PR agencies
- Excellent copywriting and editing skills
