As a Financial Accountant you will responsible for the following: Ensure accurate and up-to-date financial records, in compliance with local accounting standards, regulations, and company policies. Oversee the general ledger and ensure financial transactions are classified correctly. Reconcile accounts and promptly resolve discrepancies. Handle daily operational financial duties, including processing payments and addressing any ad-hoc requirements. Maintain the chart of accounts, suggesting improvements as needed. Prepare management accounts and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. Conduct month-end and year-end closing procedures, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting. Reconcile bank statements, accounts receivable, and accounts payable to ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial data. Monitor and analyze financial performance against budgets, forecasts, and KPIs, offering insights and recommendations to management. Assist in preparing budgets, forecasts, and financial projections to inform decision-making and planning. Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including finance team members and department heads, to improve financial processes and efficiency. Support external audits and regulatory compliance requirements by providing necessary documentation and explanations. Stay informed about changes in accounting standards, tax laws, and regulatory requirements, ensuring the organization remains compliant. Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement best practices to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of financial operations. Enhance internal controls and stock management processes by identifying areas for improvement and implementing best practices. Job Experience and Skills Required: B.Com in Finance (completed). SAIPA or SAICA articles completed. 1-2 years of post-articles experience in a financial accounting role. Retail experience is beneficial
