REQUIREMENTS: - Matric
- Minimum N2 in electrical trade theory and trade tested
- 5 years' experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
- Installation of electrical related equipment
- Fault finding and problem solving
- Sound understanding of drawing
DUTIES: Technical: - Assemble, install, test and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus and fixtures
- Perform rigging activities (be physically capable of performing work from ladders, scaffolds, and roofs)
- Identify, report and rectify all technical areas of concern on electrical equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures
- Perform duties in a work environment that will be hot, cold, dirty and fast-paced
- Have an in-depth understanding of:
- Electrical principles and drawings
- DC, AC, single phase, 2-phase, 3-phase, 230V, 380V, and industrial troubleshooting
- Safety-related and other electrical functions
- Diagnosing malfunctioning electrical systems, apparatus, components, and continuity of circuits
- systematical approach in locating the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem
- Connecting of wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.
- Observing and following all safety regulations and use of required PPE.
- Programming of variable frequency drives (VFD)
- Compatibility and safety of systems
- Have a good understanding of:
- Processes utilized (e.g. material feeding and drying, injection moulding, reheat stretch blow moulding and injection blow moulding)
- All equipment utilized
- Technical principles and drawings (e.g. assemblies and spare part finding, pneumatic, hydraulic)
- Safe and proficient use of work shop tools (both hand and power
- Fault analysis and problem solving:
- Independently do fault analysis and problem solving in case of (teamwork as needed)
- Malfunctioning electrical components
- Machine malfunction in terms of electrical issues
- Recognize and report problems to Senior Electrician
- Maintenance:
- Ensure maintenance is done at required intervals according to the plans
Administration (job): - Log jobs performed
- Contact external suppliers as agreed with Senior Electrician to assist in solving problems (quotes on service, spare parts, etc.)
- Spares:
- Have an overview of existing stock for equipment
- Spare part analysis (= keep stock vs. source at breakdown)
- Report parts needed to Senior Electrician and assist in decision to have on stock or source at
- Breakdown
- Assist Senior Electrician in ordering process (e.g. prepare documents, follow up on orders)
- Plan for the year ahead, assist Senior Electrician with work on budget for maintenance
Health & Safety: - Ensure and enforce that aspects in area of responsibility conform to Health and safety requirements
- Maintain housekeeping standards in area of responsibility (e.g. ensure cleanliness of technical areas, stores, workshops and machines).
- Work safely and report on safety hazards or issues.
Food (Product) Safety: - Food safety standards are site specific and at these sites employees should:
- Apply the sites food safety principles and standards.
- Report any food safety hazards or issues to your Supervisor/Manager.
- Comply to and maintain all GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices) in relation to the Companys FSMS (Food Safety Management System).
