Legal Claims Solutions (LCS) has a position available for a Litigation Manager who will be based in Alice Lane, Sandton.

Job Description

This position requires an individual to investigate the merits of a matter, determine policy response and instruct and manage external attorneys. Monitor and manage legal costs and ensure that the external attorney adheres to the prescribed Santam Memorandum of Understanding.

Key Responsibilities

Determine if the policy needs to respond to the claim lodged by applying the policy wording to the facts
Appointing and managing of resources
Ensure correct payment of costs
Effective diary management
Liaise with all relevant stakeholders – which may include, brokers, administrators, underwriting
Service: provide excellent professional service to all relevant parties, both internal and external
Authorisation of claims payments in accordance with mandate
Manage the relationship and performance of the attorney

Qualifications and Experience

Matric/Grade 12
BCom LLB or LLB degree
Thorough knowledge and practical experience in Civil Litigation
Being an admitted attorney will serve as an advantage
Product Knowledge: Short Term Insurance
Expert knowledge of process flow systems

Skills

Excellent client service orientation
Information acquisition and investigation skills
Time management skills
