As the Logistics Manager of Lotus Wolseley, you will be responsible for managing the full logistics cycle of Lotus South Africa Manufacturing, including the importation of the required raw materials and exportation of finished goods in time to satisfy our clients' needs.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement logistics strategies and procedures to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
- Manage the entire logistics process, including importing, transportation, and distribution via road, sea, and air.
- Coordinate with suppliers, vendors, and internal departments to ensure timely delivery and availability of products.
- Manage Customer Service with all Sales offices and the International Sales team.
- Oversee freight forwarding activities, negotiate and manage contracts with transportation providers.
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of logistics service providers and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Ensure compliance with local, national, and international regulations relating to logistics and transportation.
- Communicate regularly with international vendors to ensure that all the necessary paperwork/documentation is accurate and received in a timely manner.
- Align regularly with Corporate & Local Buyers to help facilitate high-level visibility of all international shipments.
- Work daily with Freight Forwarders to ensure transit and rate optimization.
- Be proactive and identify any potential customs issues.
Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics Management.
- 5 years proven experience in logistics management, preferably in a manufacturing, import, and export environment.
- Proficient in using SAP, logistics management software, and tools.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Excellent presentation and communication skills.
- Ability to build and develop great relationships, both internally and externally.
- Able to prioritize quickly in a fast-moving, entrepreneurial environment.
