Plasma Cutter - Kidderminster, Worcestershire Permanent circa £31,000-£35,000 plus benefits
AndersElite require a Plasma Cutter on a permanent basis for an established manufacturing and process company based in Kidderminster, Worcestershire.
This role is available from December 2024 and will offer permanent and stable employment with our client s order book busy for the foreseeable future. The work location is set in an industrial unit, our client specialising in the manufacturing of wear resistant process plant and equipment.
The ideal Plasma Cutter is an individual who enjoys working with their hands, is knowledgeable with mechanics and fabrication, has an aptitude for problem-solving and is extremely organized and detail-oriented. They should also have the ability to interpret engineering drawings and the skill to adjust cutting parameters according to the material being cut. Moreover, they should possess excellent communication skills, be able to work safely, and follow all safety guidelines for operating the machine.
Core Responsibilities
• Load and unload materials onto the plasma cutting machine
• Set up the machine to ensure accurate cuts
• Adjust settings and monitor the machine to ensure quality control
• Monitor the cutting process, making adjustments as necessary
• Ensure accuracy of cuts and any other product specifications
• Maintain safe operation of the machine and workplace
• Troubleshoot and identify problems with the plasma cutting machine
• Check and inspect finished work pieces for defects and conformance to specifications
• Make necessary adjustments to the plasma cutting machine or other related equipment
• Document machine activities for maintenance and inspection records
Expertise & Fit
• To be responsible for operating a CNC plasma cutting machine.
• To create products from detailed drawings for metal components in sheet metal fabrication.
• To be able to read and understand the drawing provided and ensure that the final product meets all specifications.
• To be able to troubleshoot any machine issues and problems during the cutting process.
• Must be knowledgeable in the operation of plasma cutting machine and related software.
• Must be able to understand the settings and adjust them as necessary to obtain the desired results.
• Must be able to efficiently operate the machine, detecting and resolving any problems that may arise during the operation.
• Must adhere to safety protocols in order to ensure a safe working environment.
Payment is based on an hourly rate, (£14.83 per hour). After 40 hours are worked during the week pay rate is increased to £18.09 per hour with the possibility of weekend overtime at £21.36 per hour (Saturdays) and £25.21 (Sundays)
In addition, you will receive a company pension, holiday allowance, sick pay allowance and any training courses required to further your technical development.
The working week will be minimum 40hrs, generally 7 00 Monday to Friday but overtime hours will be available during busier periods which is very regular, allowing employees to supplement their usual earnings.
