Payroll and Systems Administrator
Location: Bellville, Cape Town
Employment Type: Permanent, Onsite
Ensure on-time and in-full (OTIF) processing and managing of the payroll process, while maintaining meticulous records and assuring accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations. This role oversees various payroll tasks, including salary processing, benefits administration, and compliance reporting. The overall objective is to streamline payroll processes, enhance accuracy, automate PS workflows, and proactively deliver valuable insights and reports that aid decision-making. The role is also required to ensure optimized functionality and maintenance of all HRIS systems within People Support.
Qualifications
- Certification in Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or similar credentials - essential
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field - advantageous
Experience
- 5-7 years of experience processing end-to-end payroll (medium to large payroll)
- 3-5 years' experience and proven track record in payroll/T&A process improvement and leading payroll/T&A systems changes or projects
Knowledge
- Proficient in using payroll software and systems (PaySpace)
- Knowledge of T&A systems and API integration with payroll systems (ERS)
- Comprehensive experience on SARS tax regulation and E-filing
- Good understanding of all taxable earnings, deductions, and benefits tax implications
- Analytically inclined with a knack for report writing and business insights
- An eye for detail and accuracy
- Comfortable with all legislative compliance related to payroll (including labour, tax, WCA, or other)
- Good understanding of remuneration and benefits structuring (CTC, basic + benefits, variable, commission, standby, allowances, etc.)
- Proven track record in systems changes and/or system upgrade change management
