Monthly Basic Salary (Market related, Negotiable)
Our client based in Sandton, Johannesburg is seeking a Network Support Services Technician to join their team. The ideal candidate must be familiar with Software Design Networks (SD-WAN, SD-DC, SD-Access). This would be a 12-month contract.
Potential scope items:
Areas of focus include but are not limited to:
- Day to day network support for both Branch, ATM’s and 3rd party link and maintenance;
- Interacting with the regional Field engineers and the IT Network service providers;
- Improve the current systems that are used to monitor bank branches and ATMs to enable better Mean Time To Repair (MTTR) and reporting;
- Provide regular reports to Supervisor: IT Branch Network, Senior Manager: Integrated Operations Centre monthly or as may be necessary to effect corrective measures to improve efficiency and effective network operations.
Deliverable items include but are not limited to:
- Provide first- and second-line technical support;
- Routing and switching, as well as software defined networking;
- IT Network Incident and change management;
- Campus IT Network performance and availability;
- Branch IT Network performance and availability;
- ATM and Kiosk IT Network performance and availability;
- Enterprise Campus network, which includes Routers, switches and local wire area network (Wi-Fi) Access points and controllers;
- WAN network, which includes CPEs and service provider managed links;
- Bug scrub – assess software code running on the networking platforms to show bugs reported against them and how to circumvent the risk;
- Branch network which includes switches and local wire area network (Wi-Fi);
- Network documentation – get the environment documented correctly and information available to whoever may need it;
- Training of Integrated IT Operations Centre staff members on first and second level IT Network support;
- Monthly governance reporting for the IT Network including but not limited to availability and performance.
Additional Information:
- Scope of work was previously defined and approved by Bank and the Service Provider.
- Scope can be reviewed/refined on a weekly basis, if required.
- Weekly reviews will be conducted on the progress of the agreed upon deliverables.
- Formal monthly performance reviews will be conducted on the progress of the agreed upon deliverables.
