Our Restructuring practice’s aim is to provide highly bespoke and effective solutions to its clients. Our clients include major banks, asset-based lenders, other lenders, creditors, private equity houses, shareholders and security holders, accountants and advisors, lawyers, financial sponsors, and corporates. We are tasked with assuming direct responsibility for a portfolio of cases, principally through informal workouts and (formal) Chapter 6 business rescue appointments, as well as offering advice and guidance to organizations across every industry and every situation across the spectrum of distress.
Responsibilities:
- Assist companies in financial distress including pre-crisis situations, informal workouts and through formal restructuring processes (such as business rescue)
- Prepare or analyse cash flow forecasts, business plans and financial models, as well as historic trading and market factors
- Assist with developing strategy including turnaround and restructuring plans, contingency planning or alternative solutions
- Assist with valuations, ‘estimated financial outcome’ analysis and financial modelling for various options, including liquidation, restructuring and sale
- Proactive management of all stakeholders (internal and external) in relation to multiple projects, including managing timelines, deliverables and key issues and managing client interactions on all levels (junior and senior client team members)
- Involvement in business development (building of network) - using own knowledge, initiative and network supplemented by internal and external resources, contribute possible leads and opportunity development for future business for further consideration by the team
The Ideal Candidate:
- Minimum of three years’ experience in restructuring or related discipline with at least one year in the last three years being focused on restructuring/work-out or business rescue specific cases
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics or a MBA (or equivalent)
- Ability to make effective decisions by analysing information, including incomplete or poor information, whilst considering priorities
- Highly proficient in MS Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint (experience of data and analytics tools (such as Power BI etc.) is an advantage but not essential)
- Sound financial analysis skills, for all three accounting statements and other KPIs and value drivers as relevant
