VACANCY- Process Automation Engineer
REPORTING TO - Technology Leader
Our client is a well known PET products manufacturer and is recruiting for a Process Automation Engineer to be based in Sasolburg, Vaal Triangle area.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Process Automation Strategies.
- Leads the establishment of medium- and longer-term visions for Process Automation technology architecture and performance goals, in close relationship with overlapping and bordering technologies such as information and Communication, Electrical and Instrumentation.
- Defines and leads the processes and procedures to establish year to year roadmaps with to longer-term visions as guide.
- Align and adapt the visions and strategies to best meet the business objectives and requirements.
- Defines and leads the processes and procedures to select and develop the most effective technologies, procedures and practices to be used for Process Automation.
- Process Automation Covers:
- Process Control (production process automation)
- Process Information:
- Management Execution System (production process information management)
- Process Excellence tools (Digital-tools) Application of Automation and ICT platforms to automate and enhance selected processes (not only production processes)
Process Excellence (PEX)
- Serves as PEX Facilitator
- Member of the PEX steering team.
- Leads selected PEX projects.
- Leads investigations for selected OTS (opportunity tracking system) opportunities.
Project Executions
- Serves as Project Manager for selected capital and expense projects.
- Serves as Process Control engineering expert for selected capital and expense projects.
- Participates in the identification and selection of value-adding capital and expense projects.
MINIMUM CRITICAL REQUIREMENTS
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- National Diploma or Bachelors degree Qualification (Technical-Instrumentation, Instrumentation & Control, Electronics, Electrical).
- A minimum of 8 years in Industrial Automation Systems, including at least 5 years in DCS, ESD and SIL systems. Preferably in a petrochemical industry e.g. polyolefins, refining.
Proficiency in:
- Distributed Control Systems (DCS) such as Siemens and Yokogawa.
- Manufacturing Execution System (MES) such as AspenONE.
- Databases such as MS SQL Server deployment and application.
- Visualization platforms such as Power BI.
- Server hardware and operating systems.
- Application development with industry popular languages such as VB-script, Java-script and on platforms such as Internet Information server and Azure.
- System Integration, between different platforms with common technologies such as ODBC, OPC, Modbus and Profibus.
