Production Manager (FMCG)
A well known packaging manufacturing company based in JHB South is looking for a Production Manager to manage and lead a production team
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Must achieve Minimum 85% as per efficiency logs
- Waste of less than 1.4% of material issued as per weekly material consumption report
- Actual master batch usage = costed usage as per weekly material consumption report
- Ensure no repetitive damage to moulds as per mould damage report
- Zero stock out of critical spares as per spares stock control sheet
- Ensure full utilization of planned maintenance allowance as per weekly planned maintenance report
- Improvement of cycle times as per efficiency logs and production meeting minutes every hour
- Ensure less than 0.2% of sales returned by customers for manufacturing related defects as per customer return summary
- Ensure zero justified customer complaints
- Customer complaints responded to within one hour and addressed within 24 hours (as per internal and external audit; verified NCQRs and customer return summary)
- Adherence to food safety procedures and zero findings (as per external and internal audit)
- Developing and manage a budget for Production in conjunction with Operations Manager and Finance Manager.
- Adherence to skills plan as per food safety management review report back.
- Ensure succession plan is in place for department as per succession plan.
- Retention of new employees in department and Low turnover of "A" graded employees.
- Compliance with HR & IR policies and procedures
- Ensuring a safe working environment with100% compliance to the OHS Act as per safety report
Minimum required qualifications, skills and experience:
- Must have a BSc or BEng. Degree (Mechanical, Electrical or Mechatronics)
- Must have 5 to 10 years experience in a production environment and 3 to 5 years management level
- Must have FMCG experience, Plastic or packaging experience is an advantage
- Good conflict handling and management skills
- Ability to operate under pressure
- Ability to communicate with all levels and across departments
- Ability to develop budgets and apply analytical techniques
- Ability to interpret data effectively
- Ability to develop and coach employees within the department
- Ability to implement HR procedures
