Job Title: Cost Estimator
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Cost Estimator to join our client's team in the solar space. In this role, you will play a critical role in ensuring project success by providing accurate and comprehensive cost estimates for our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Consulting with clients and visiting project sites to gather data.
- Analyzing data to estimate project costs, including labor, materials, and production time.
- Preparing cost analyses, tender documents, and bills of quantities.
- Collaborating with engineers, project managers, finance, and other stakeholders.
- Identifying and quantifying all cost factors involved in a project.
- Utilizing cost estimating software to generate reports.
- Reviewing project expenditures throughout all phases.
- Developing and preparing conceptual estimates.
- Creating detailed critical path job schedules.
- Maintaining confidentiality at all times.
- Evaluating bids and purchase offers.
- Resolving cost discrepancies through analysis and data collection.
- Preparing and presenting budgets, reports, and project plans.
- Developing bids for construction projects.
- Understanding and adhering to industry standards and codes.
- Processing paperwork and visiting construction sites as needed.
- Monitoring construction processes.
- Staying current with safety codes and construction best practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., construction management, engineering, quantity surveying) or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in cost estimation, preferably within the solar or electrical projects sector.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent mathematical skills with an eye for detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project).
- Experience with construction costing software (e.g., Candy) is a must.
- Demonstrated experience with construction contracts.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Customer-focused with the ability to communicate effectively across all levels.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
