Hire Resolve is excited to announce a fantastic opportunity for a talented and driven Civil Engineering Technologist to join our client’s team in uMhlanga, KZN, South Africa. As a Civil Engineering Technologist, you will be responsible for designing and overseeing the construction of various civil engineering projects, including roads, sewer systems, and stormwater drainage.
Responsibilities & Skills:

- Strong technical skills and able to manage projects from Conceptual to Detailed Design, Documentation and Contract Administration of services for civil infrastructure projects including but not limited to:
- Municipal services
- Earthworks
- Stormwater Reticulation
- Sewer Reticulation
- Water Reticulation
- Platforms and assessments
- Ensure all designs are checked and approved by the relevant manager prior to forwarding to the relevant client and contractor
- Performing due diligence on the impact and feasibility of new construction sites
- The preparation of feasibility reports
- Attending meetings with clients and stakeholders as and when required
- Assist with the implementation of medium to large sized projects within technical standards, quality, budgets, and time frames
- Ensure effectiveness, quality, and profitability of completed projects including project follow-up, to monitor project deliverables and client satisfaction levels
- Site supervision as and when required
- Contribute to the preparation of project reports and proficiency in technical report writing
- A working understanding of project finances and project budgets for medium to large scale projects
- Surveying new construction sites and assessing existing structures for upgrades
- Sound Project Management Skills – Liaise, co-operate, and provide required information to clients and stakeholders at various stages
- Preparation of estimates of construction costs (BOQs)
- Preparation of specifications and preambles for construction works (Colto / Coto / SANS / GCC)
Requirements:
- Completed minimum or BTech.
- Advanced knowledge of MS Office Suite (MS Word, MS Excel, Outlook & PowerPoint)
- No less than 10 years experience in a similar position within a Consulting Engineering firm (pref)
- Proficient in design packages
- AutoCAD Civil 3D experience essential
- Technical knowledge of drawing and design processes
- Project Management experience is essential
