Our client in Boksburg, East Rand is looking for an Operator Trainer on Komatsu to join their team.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Mining Engineering, Education, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in the operation and maintenance of underground mining equipment, with a focus on safety and productivity.
- Experience developing and delivering training materials in a classroom and field setting.
- Knowledge of adult learning principles and current training best practices.
- Train the trainer qualification.
- Driver's License.
- Advanced Computer skills.
- Passing Mine Medical Inductions is a requirement.
- Government Certificate of Competency in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
QUALITY
- Adhere to company standards, policies and procedures as well as customer standards at all times.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT
- Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness in the workplace and at the customer.
- Maintain machinery, equipment and other related items in their assigned Departments to ensure orderly operations.
- Maintain safety standards and comply with the Company's safety instructions and requirements at all times.
- Use the appropriate personal safety equipment and obey all safety signs.
- Report processes or personnel that contravene safety and environmental standards and practices.
DEVELOPMENT AND TRAINING STANDARDS
- Continuously develop and maintain yourself to keep abreast with new technology and developments in your line of duty within the Personal Development Plan, discussed with your direct supervisor/manager.
NEW MACHINE DELIVERIES
- Provide proper operator training to the prospective operators for all new machines delivered to the customer and ensure that proper training material is available for their future reference.
OVER INSPECTION
- A over inspection will be conducted on request from the mine's management to identify and rectify bad operating habits.
REPORTING
- All reports must be submitted on a weekly basis to the Training Coordinator.
- Provide the Training Coordinator with a weekly report summarizing the training completed for the week and the future training plan.
COURTESY CALLS
- Ensure ongoing relationships with customers by identifying any needs that may arise and gathering information on new developments or requirements.
MARKETING STRATEGY
- Identify the existing customer base and increase efforts and service level as well as identifying key role players and their requirements.
- Gather market intelligence such as movement of key role-players in and out of the mine, replacement of machines that are due, requirement for spare parts, etc.
CUSTOMER COMPLAINTS
- Ensure that customer complaints and claims are treated as priority and resolved to everyone's satisfaction.
- Evaluate complaints on a daily basis and escalate any serious complaints to the Training Coordinator.
- Investigate regular service failures and escalate to the relevant department heads.
SOFT SKILLS
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
