Introduction
Our client in the Hospitality industry is currently looking for a Lodge Maintenance Manager in Wilderness, Garden Route.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Supervise all lodge maintenance operations to ensure safety, functionality, and high standards.
- Oversee daily lodge activities, coordinating between maintenance and guest services.
- Develop and implement maintenance schedules, source materials, and manage contracts.
- Lead and support operations staff, ensuring efficient performance.
- Manage budget, handle front-office operations, and address guest inquiries and issues.
- Manage phone services, handle mail and provide information on local options.
- Conduct safety inspections, enforce regulations, and identify improvement opportunities.
- Assist staff with tasks like room inspections and hot tub setup.
- Inspect guest areas for cleanliness, oversee equipment maintenance, and manage shifts.
- Create and implement policies, stay updated on industry trends, and demonstrate strong organizational skills.
- Conduct training sessions for staff.
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Work well under pressure and be quick to act in stressful situations.
- Possess a valid driver's license and vehicle for transportation.
- A minimum of 2+ years of direct experience in maintenance including electrical, plumbing, woodwork etc.
- Experience in staff management and project management.
- Strong commitment to delivering exceptional service and a genuine passion for the industry.
- Outstanding proficiency in English and Afrikaans language.
- Excellent managerial and communication abilities.
- Thorough understanding of basic labour laws and disciplinary procedures.
- Familiarity with housekeeping and maintenance protocols.
- Aware of advancements in the food and lodge sectors, as well as global hospitality trends.
- Diligent work ethic, cooperative attitude, and meticulous attention to detail.
- Display of assertiveness, patience, and strong organizational skills.
- Citizenship or possession of a valid working visa.
Package & Remuneration
- Up to R15,000 per month plus room and board.
