Queenstown community hospice is seeking a social worker/counsellor to join their team in Aotearoa, New Zealand . The ideal candidate has the ability to connect with diverse individuals within the hospital. Queenstown community is dedicated to enhancing our services by expanding support through the creation of support groups to reflect our commitment to comprehensive care. The candidate should have the capability to collaborate closely with families, guiding them through available resources and offering support throughout the care journey. For this position, the candidate must have at least 5 years of experience in the healthcare community. This full-time position offers a competitive salary range of $75,000 to $85,000 per year.
Qualifications for Social Worker/Counsellor:
- The candidate must have a bachelor’s degree in social work, counselling, or psychology.
- Must have a certificate as a social worker/counsellor.
- Experience in providing counselling or social work services through internships and previous employment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for effectively interacting with clients and colleagues.
- Ability to assess clients' needs, identify challenges, and develop effective intervention plans.
Responsibilities for Social Worker/Counsellor:
- Responsible for conducting comprehensive assessments of clients' needs.
- Providing counselling and therapy to individuals, families, and addressing mental health concerns.
- Ability to coordinate services and resources to meet clients' needs and provide follow-up support.
- Collaborating with an interdisciplinary team, including healthcare providers, to ensure comprehensive care and support for clients.
