Duties & Responsibilities
Requirements:
- Tertiary qualification preferable; viz. BCom / NDip in Supply Chain Management.
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment; ideally in the FMCG or perishable foods environment.
- Extensive Warehousing, Inventory Management as well as independent knowledge on ERP’s, WMS’s and experience with HACCP, ISO45001, 50001 & 9000 will be highly recommended.
- This position requires the utmost attention to detail, time management and prioritisation skills.
- Proficiency with warehouse procedures and policies.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and leadership qualities.
- Ability to work collaboratively with all levels of company staff.
- Ability to deliver effective feedback, both written and verbal.
- Must be available to work overtime (as required) and weekends (every second weekend).
Responsibilities and expectations but not limited to:
- Ensure that the warehouse operates at peak efficiency by supervising, organizing, and training warehouse employees and establishing, monitoring, and managing operational goals.
- Review and prepare work schedules, staffing requirements, space allocations, and action plans that meet company standards for productivity, safety, quality, and customer service.
- Maintain HSE and Food Safety in the work environment by establishing and enforcing procedures and standards and complying with legal regulations.
- Oversee daily operations while controlling and managing inventory integrity.
- Assist and support the Warehouse Controller in duties such as ensuring specifications, quantity, and quality of orders are correct.
- Maintain proper warehousing and inventory control.
- Ensure correct put-aways and picking of inventory for dispatch and that put away and picking assignments are completed in a safe, proper, and timely manner.
- Assist the Warehouse Controller in general asset management, SHEQ checklists, preparation for any and all external supplier audits and maintenance/compliance of procedures/processes.
