Engineering Director – Logistics & Warehousing
Our client, a top-tier provider in frozen logistics, specialising in multi-temperature warehousing and distribution, is actively seeking an Engineering Director with a background in Industrial Engineering. The Engineering Director role requires expertise in leading performance, change, people, and self, fostering a high-performance culture, customer service excellence, and innovation. They must build inclusivity, inspire teams, and promote collaboration while demonstrating a drive for continuous learning and motivating others. Communication skills are crucial, including interpreting complex reports and proposals, negotiating with senior management, and presenting strategic directions internally and externally. Additionally, the role involves influencing the strategic direction of the business.
Qualifications & Experience Requirements:
- Degree in Industrial Engineering (Preferably a 4yr BEng/BSc DEGREE IN INDUSTRIAL ENGINEERING OR RELATED FIELD)
- Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Professional Designations
- PMI or PRINCE certification an advantage
- Minimum of 15 years’ experience with 5 at a senior manager and/or executive level in an FMCG (or similar) organisation spanning planning and distribution functions.
- Experience in client and stakeholder engagement
Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Strategic Planning & Execution
- Develop and implement logistics engineering strategies aligned with organizational goals.
- Ensure scalability, flexibility, and customer experience improvement while managing supply chain costs effectively.
- Assess and mitigate supply chain risks in compliance with regulations.
- Identify business opportunities for process improvements and innovation.
Application Engineering
- Manage Masterdata updates in SAP.
- Align system functionalities with business needs and drive necessary changes and improvements.
Project & Change Management
- Plan and deliver logistics engineering projects within schedule, budget, and quality standards.
- Lead cross-functional teams and manage Change Management for strategic projects.
- Employ Advanced Quality Planning (AQP) to mitigate risks before implementation using recognized project management methodologies.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, or Kaizen methodologies.
- Enhance processes and productivity across functional areas.
- Foster innovation in logistics operations by adopting new technologies and practices.
- Set up, maintain, and develop business intelligence reports and dashboards.
- Manage data validation, requirements gathering, and BI implementation.
Leadership
- Represent Engineering & Projects function on regional and global platforms.
- Lead and mentor a high-performing team, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous learning.
Decision Making
- Make informed decisions and recommendations through research and analysis.
- Address high-risk decisions impacting business success and sustainability.
- Identify and implement innovations to improve business performance and lower costs.
