Job Overview
Our leading client in the clothing and distribution industry is seeking a dynamic candidate who will oversee and manage 5 stores within a 65km radius of their home base. Extensive travel between stores is required.
Duties & Responsibilities
The successful individual will be responsible for managing the stores through execution of the marketing and operations plans, coordinating marketing, administrative, logistics, HR, sales, and operations sequences.
- Asset Management:
Responsible for the branches, ensuring that the outside of the stores are neat and tidy, and that inside fixtures and fittings are maintained at all times. Co-ordinate maintenance and repair services, and protect all company assets. - Stock Control:
Accountable for all stock, prepare requisitions to replenish stock, identify slow selling items, conduct stock takes, and manage shrinkage. - Merchandising:
Manage the quality and quantity of merchandise assortments, coordinate shelf layouts, identify new promotional methods, and maintain housekeeping standards. - Marketing and Sales:
Implement marketing promotions, prepare staff for merchandise displays, participate in promotions, provide sales leadership, and achieve store sales targets. - Administration and Cash:
Ensure administration standards are met, verify cash handling procedures, manage controllable expenses, and report daily figures to the Area Manager. - Security / Risk:
Manage security procedures, monitor security staff, ensure Health & Safety standards are met, and attend to alarm calls. - Customer Services:
Train staff in customer service, assist customers with enquiries, and continuously satisfy customer needs. - People Management:
Assign duties, encourage and train employees, manage performance, ensure policies are followed, and conduct staff meetings.
Desired Experience & Qualification
• Matric Certificate.
• NQF 5/6 Certificate or Diploma in Retail/Business Management (advantageous).
• Valid Driver’s License – Code 8 unendorsed + ability to drive a light motor vehicle.
• 5 years minimum experience as a Branch Manager in a clothing retail environment.
• Computer Literate (Microsoft Office Proficient).
• Excellent communication skills.
• Flexibility to work in different stores/towns as per operational needs.
