Position Purpose
To develop and manage ICT Transnet wide project governance policies, standards, processes and leads teams that monitor implementation of such policies across the organization to ensure high quality and availability of intended solutions, services, products and their benefits.
ICT Project governance specialists are responsible for monitoring IT systems to ensure they follow policies, practices and methodologies. They must evaluate best practices, manage staff, identify controls, and keep records. In addition to monitoring project management delivery capability, ICT Project governance specialists act as mentors so each IT staff team member has the proper expertise. They ensure that staff has a solid understanding of auditing procedures and necessary independence to conduct their own investigations. ICT Project governance specialists compile a vast array of Projects into a coherent report for the audit committee.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide a single point of contact between the PMO, Transnet Internal Audit and other relevant stakeholders.
- Develop and manage the relationship between ICT and other stakeholders, with the goal of ensuring understanding and adoption of the project governance control framework.
- Maintain relationships with project and programme delivery teams to ensure that the methodologies are constantly effective and fit for purpose.
- Ensure compliance to project management templates that vendors must complete when responding to RFP’s.
- Ensure compliance by vendors to Transnet Project management methodology and standards.
Qualifications and Experience
A degree is required with Prince 2 Practitioner qualification or PMBOK qualification. 3-5 years of experience in information management and business analysis or strategic project/programme management. Minimum 4 Years Programme Management experience with a bias for methodology development. In-depth knowledge of COBIT, ITIL, ISO 9001 and others.
