Reporting to: Flotation Manager Travel required: Local & International Job Purpose: To carry-out the necessary duties in supporting the sale of goods and services by the company. This role will be based in the South African office and will involve extensive travel to various African countries. The ideal candidate must have a deep understanding of mineral processing, particularly flotation, and a proven track record in sales and business development. The role will provide a sound platform to support business development efforts for the companys products within its chosen markets in the region. The incumbent is expected to manage the relationships with different clients that have the companys products and market the company's products to potential clients. The role will assess product performance issues, prepare and submit reports, quotations, bids and proposals, enter sales orders and respond to customers, including but not limited to representative agents, resellers, distributors and end-users enquiries in a timely manner. Primary responsibilities: Business Development: Identify, qualify, and develop new business opportunities in the African mining industry, with a focus on mineral processing. Maintain a thorough and up-to-date understanding of the company's policy and procedures, sales order processes, general product knowledge and debtor management Sales & Marketing: Actively promote the company's products and services to potential clients through effective sales and marketing strategies. Assist with developing the annual sales orders budget by product by segment. Contribute to the preparation of and attend trade shows and conferences as required. Familiarize with tender and contract terms and conditions in line with the company's policy. Prepare and deliver detailed sales/product quotes, bids and proposals. Support the representative agents and resellers and distributors throughout the region Technical Expertise: Provide technical support and solutions to clients, leveraging on knowledge of mineral processing, particularly flotation. Take complete ownership and processing of orders as required by the role. Pre-estimate and post-analyze project costs Customer Relation Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring customer satisfaction and loyalty Market Analysis: Conduct market research and analysis to identify emerging trends and opportunities in the African mining sector Project Management: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to manage and execute projects from initiation to completion. Travel: Undertake extensive and frequent domestic and international travel to visit clients, attend industry events, and conduct business development activities Skills, Qualifications & Experience: A metallurgical or chemical engineering graduate with a minimum of 5 years experience in a similar industry. Solid understanding of mineral processing principles, particularly flotation. Proven ability to successfully manage customer accounts. Proven sales experience and a strong track record of achieving sales targets. An understanding of the sales cycle and sales processes Needs to have an analytical mind, logical approach with an emphasis on solving problems Needs to have a strong work ethic with an ability to prioritise own workload to meet deadlines Must be well organized, able to plan and meet objectives. Willingness to travel extensively within the African continent. Committed to continuous education and willing to accept mentoring and critical feedback Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with customers and colleagues Other Qualities & Competencies: A good mechanical aptitude with electrical understanding would be advantageous Self-motivated with a capacity to work independently Exceptional written and verbal communication skills Good personality with excellent interpersonal skills Experience with an MRP/ERP system would be advantageous Competent in MS products including OneDrive, Outlook, Excel, Word, Access, OneNote and Power Point
