KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
- Ensure that all customers receive products that meets the quality standard
- To ensure correct application of Customer specific requirements
- To quickly and effectively act when non-conformances are found by reporting and supporting countermeasure activities of nonconformance
- Provide effective feedback to all relevant departments wrt defects identified
- Conducts data analysis to optimise processes.
- Daily production walks and follow up on corrective actions ( Fast response )
- Design, develop and implement quality standards for all products, including existing and new products
QUALIFICATIONS
- Tertiary qualification, e.g. ND Mech Eng or BTech Quality
- Auditing cerification in IATF 16949 and VDA 6.3
- Quality specific training in Core Tools and CSR’s
WORK EXPERIENCE
- Experience in a wheel manufacturing environment is advantageous
- Minimum of 5 years Quality Engineer experience in a large manufacturing environment, automotive would be advantageous
- Experience in dealing directly with customers, and portals
- Experience with Root cause and Problem Solving Methodologies (5 Why’s, 4M, 8Ds )
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and customer specifications
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
- Excellent attendance record
- Computer literacy is essential (intermediate to advanced)
- Good decision-making skills, attention to detail, deadline driven
- Ability to stay calm under pressure, lead and be a team-player
- Honest, have integrity and very good communication skills
- Valid SA drivers' licence (customer and supplier visits)
