We serve Beltrami and Cass Counties in Northern Minnesota. This job will be located in Bemidji, MN.

Starting Salary: $23.04/hr. Eligible for benefits, PTO, and holiday pay.
Hours: 40 hours/week. Schedule: M-Fri, 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Primary Duties:
- Perform onsite inspections in single-family homes throughout Beltrami and Cass County.
- This position is similar to a home inspector but is more detailed with diagnostic testing focused on energy efficiency. Company vehicle provided, and no overnight travel.
- 40% of the position is outside the office at client’s homes inspecting and evaluating the building envelope and its mechanical systems using diagnostic testing equipment on combustion appliances, identifying health or safety issues, pressure diagnostics, thermography, and building envelope heat loss.
- 60% of the position is in the office doing data entry and typing work orders. You must have some experience or background operating a computer/keyboard and demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
Experience:
- 1-3 years’ experience in Construction, Energy Audits, HVAC, Electrical, Building Science, Plumbing, or Home Inspections preferred.
- High School Diploma or GED; and a valid Minnesota driver’s license with no history of major driving infractions.
- The ability to exercise good judgment and discretion, attention to detail, excellent organizational and time management skills.
- The capacity to work both as a team player and individually, while contributing to a productive, fun work environment and displaying a pleasant, helpful attitude.
- Strong understanding of residential energy, building codes, thermal dynamics, and general construction. Training will be provided.
- Must have a strong commitment to BI-CAP’s values of collaboration, innovation, and compassion as well as a respect for diversity. Must be able to pass a background check.
