About the Role
We are looking for 2 full time Team Leaders: one for Uluṟu (based in Yulara and commencing late January 2025) and one for Larapinta (based in Alice Springs and commencing late February 2025). Reporting to our Head of Standards & Values, you will be the driving force behind our operation, ensuring our guests enjoy the wonders of both Uluṟu and Larapinta. As key members of our Northern Territory operations team, you will support each other where required.
Your key responsibilities, should you choose to accept:
- Lead Operations: coordinate logistics and ensure compliance with operational, safety, and environmental policies and procedures.
- Enhance Guest Experience: uphold high standards of food and guest service, ensuring a memorable experience for our guests.
- Support your Team: provide coaching, mentoring, and training for guides and support staff, fostering a collaborative environment.
- Cultural Liaison: work closely with Traditional Owners to integrate cultural elements into the guest experience.
- Community Engagement: build strong relationships with local communities, including Traditional Owners, Parks Australia staff and residents.
- Oversee Administration & Logistics: supported by group systems and head office you will be key contact in delivering local administration and logistics, including operational staff rosters, trip documentation, asset maintenance, support provisioning, stock management, and end-of-season activities.
- Be a Team Player: complete guide shifts and lodge hosting duties as needed.
- Gather Feedback: maintain open communication with staff and guests, collecting and reviewing feedback for continuous improvement.
What you will bring
This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who is passionate about eco-tourism and the Australia wilderness!
- Minimum of 2 years in a management or team leader role preferably in a tourism venture.
- Experience in operational role in the tourism industry – preferably in remote operations or eco-tourism role.
- Strong problem solving and organizational skills.
- Confident and capable leading an operational team in a remote location.
- Previous experience in working with Traditional Owner involved businesses will be looked upon favourably.
- Relevant qualifications, including at least some of the following: Uluṟu-Kata Tjuta Knowledge for Tour Guides (VTP489), Wilderness First Aid (SISSS00126), CPR (HLTAID009), Responsible Service of Alcohol (SITHFAB021), Use Hygienic Practices for Food Safety (SITXFSA005) and Participate in Safe Food Handling Practices (SITXFS006). While candidates may not have all qualifications at the time of application, a willingness to obtain them is essential.
