SME South Africa Media Sales Executive
SME South Africa, the country's number one online publication for entrepreneurs, is looking for a consultative media sales executive to sell customized online advertising solutions and sponsorship opportunities to leading B2B brands targeting our SME audience. We seek a skilled sales professional who can cultivate long-term relationships with advertisers for a B2B publication.
Duties & Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities
- Strong cold call phone prospecting, presentation, and closing skills
- Make a high volume of outbound sales calls daily.
- Schedule a minimum of six business meetings per week.
- Conduct research for relevant contacts/companies fitting the advertiser profile using a structured sales process that includes lead qualification, initial contact, and acquisition through sales presentations, bespoke proposals, and contract negotiations.
- Develop long-term client relationships based on strategic planning and a systematic approach, creating a solid base for key account management.
- Collaborate with the editorial and operation teams on joint efforts, deliverables, key deals, and partner communication.
- Utilize the CRM (Monday.com) system to track efforts, update contact details, and create accurate sales projections.
- Provide weekly reports to the publisher on sales revenue and pipeline activity.
Desired Experience & Qualification
Requirements:
- Five-plus years of media sales experience in the B2B/digital/print media industry with a proven track record in achieving aggressive sales targets in a similar environment.
- Online advertising sales experience is advantageous.
- Professional and persuasive telephone manner.
- Effective organisation and time management skills.
- Strong listening and presentation skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively and persuasively, both in person and in writing.
- Highly motivated and service-oriented with the ability to inspire people and strong networking skills.
