K.A.G. Recruitment have been instructed exclusively to support our client a leading food manufacturing company who are looking for an NPD Technologist to join their existing team based in Ellesmere, Shropshire.
Job Title: NPD Technologist
Location: Ellesmere, Shropshire
Salary: £26,000
Hours: Monday to Friday 8 30am to 5 00pm
Purpose of the Role: You will work as part of the NPD team to deliver concept to launch product development that both meets the customer requirements and is in line with business KPI s as well meeting the key dates set. You will look at regular market trends coming up with new ideas for new products.
Duties: - Modification and development of products in line with customer requirements using the development process and carrying out tasks in the correct order
- Reviewing and assessing the data gained from trials and analysis and escalating for guidance from the Senior NPD Manager to allow you to carrying out the appropriate actions
- Supporting in customer benchmarking and quality panels
- Manage the workload of multiple customers and prioritizing requirements with guidance from the NPD manager on critical paths
- Reviewing and understanding customer policies and using that data to overlay the development procedure to ensure all products comply with the correct policies
- Ownership of existing processes with a continuous improvement approach working in line with business requirements
- Writing/supporting on submission forms, specifications (internal and external) and customer required technical documents to meet customer deadlines
- Work interdepartmentally with Operations and Commercial team to ensure product trials are successful
- Ensure accurate records are available for accessing and viewing by relevant personnel
- Attend and support product launches
- General cleaning and hygiene maintenance of the NPD kitchen area.
- Managing stock rotation and ingredients.
- Collection of ingredients from the factory and ensuring the kitchen is always fully stocked.
- Maintaining levels of cleaning supplies and reordering when necessary.
- Support with sealing and packaging customer samples through equipment in the kitchen or on the factory line.
Key Skills/Requirements: You will be a confident communicator who possesses excellent planning and organisational skills along with the ability to work efficiently and to agreed timescales. You will be a highly motivated self-starter who is comfortable communicating with people at all levels. You will be computer literate & proficient with standard Microsoft packages.
