Estimator / Cost Planner
Our client is looking for an experienced Estimator / Cost Planner to join their team. Preference will be given to candidates that have experience within the printing industry.
Duties include:
- Maintaining accuracy of times, rates and costing of estimating programme.
- On receipt of quote request, plan a layout of how the job will be printed and finished to minimize the overall cost.
- Gathering quotations for any outwork and/or handwork.
- Liaising with factory manager on new and specific print requirements.
- Using the estimating programme, prepare a costing and quote for the customer.
- Managing the estimating programme: ensuring rates and paper prices on the system are up to date and that labour times are calculated accurately.
- Receive and process orders.
Costing Duties:
- On completion of the job, check work ticket value to customer order value. Copy job information from master list to monthly sales schedule. Enter all material, outwork and commission costs onto the sales schedule.
Monthly Duties:
- Management of all paper purchasing and out work.
- Managing stock levels of floor stock.
- Prepare a stock valuation spreadsheet using physical counts and invoice costs.
- Balance sales paper purchases, outwork and commissions recorded on monthly sales spreadsheets to the corresponding general ledger accounts.
