We're seeking a Senior Legal Officer for our client, a prominent Investment Management and Private Equity firm listed on the JSE. This role involves providing legal counsel across investment management, private equity, and corporate governance.
Duties & Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Legal Advisory Services: Offer legal counsel on investment management, private equity, and corporate governance matters.
- Contract Management: Review, draft, and negotiate contracts and legal documents.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and industry standards.
- Corporate Transactions: Assist in corporate transactions, including due diligence and document drafting.
- Litigation Management: Manage litigation matters and liaise with external counsel.
- Policy Development: Contribute to policy development for legal compliance and risk management.
- Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications and Experience
- LLB degree and admitted attorney with 1-5 years post-article experience.
- Strong knowledge of corporate law, VAT Act, and Insolvency Act.
- Excellent drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
