Job Vacancy for Electrician working in the Petrochemical Industry
Welcome to the dynamic world of electrical expertise within the Petrochemical Industry. As an Electrician in this role, you'll embark on a journey that spans the realm of electrical installations, diagnostics, and troubleshooting. Your work will range from interpreting technical drawings to hands-on modification of electrical components and machinery.
Your safety and that of others is a top priority. You and your assistants always need to wear personal protective gear to be in compliance with rules and policies.
Many tasks will require the use of hand and power tools, so you'll be reading manuals, technical drawings, and wiring diagrams. As an electrician, you are required to have your own set of electrical tools, such as a multi-meter, and general hand tools, such as screwdrivers and pliers. You will also need your own mode of transport for times when you are requested to perform work outside of standard working hours, for which you will be compensated.
You must be physically and mentally fit to perform a wide range of activities such as climbing, bending, stooping, and kneeling. You'll also be performing duties at a variety of heights, sometimes on a ladder or an electronic lift. You have to pass a medical examination on an annual basis in order to perform your duties at Accredilec.

Key Responsibilities
- Attending and resolving equipment breakdowns, fault finding and installation.
- Attending and resolving all electrical problems, fault finding and installation.
- Attending and resolving troubleshooting on electronic equipment, PLCs, AC/DC drives, power distribution and power transformers.
- Work on circuits, motor control systems, switch gears etc.
- Responsible for managing and reporting on work schedule.
- Perform routine scheduled and unscheduled electrical maintenance.
- Responsible for reliability and safety checks on PPE and tools.
- Responsible for all inventory regarding electrical parts and ordering of spares.
- Responsible for all daily/weekly/monthly inspections.
- Being involved in electrical upgrades and modifications as well as propose recommendations.
- Initiating cost effective maintenance projects.
- Liaising with all relevant stakeholders.
- Be able to read, design and fault find from electrical schematic drawings.
- Participate in site-wide process safety and risk reduction activities as requested.
- Maintain prints and files in proper place.
- Attend to document work, e.g. drawings, specs etc.
- Report writing and continues feedback on jobs with before and after photos for evidence.
- Access and prepare itemized list for quoting purposes.
- Manage stock usage per job, inclusive of project work with a BOQ and report.
- Safety and housekeeping.
