Senior Water Design Engineer (WIIG) (POS24273)

Core Purpose:
- Project leader/task leader for consulting engineering in water and sanitation related to engineering projects.
- Tasks include planning, design, tender, construction monitoring of projects as well as general responsibilities with respect to marking, proposals and management of staff.
- Working with Senior Site Staff to manage Project Administration and resolve technical issues arising on large multidisciplinary, multi-contract bulk water projects
Requirements:
- Degree - PrEng Civil (Essential)
- Professionally registered with SCAPCMP (an advantage)
- Bulk Water and Sanitation Infrastructure Design experience is a pre-requisite
Duties:
- Programme work and set productivity targets in discussion with the Project Manager.
- Obtain and confirm acceptance of appointments in writing.
- Prepare time/cost estimates for clients on projects.
- Plan and monitor progress of projects.
- Manage and Perform design work as required.
- Prepare project reports, specifications, minutes, correspondence.
- Control the quality and productivity of work done.
- Attend meetings with clients.
- Ensure that specific client and project requirement are implemented.
- Obtain and confirm detailed project briefs and prepare budgets.
- Compile report and bids.
- Ensure Construction Works are built to specifications.
- Ensure quality of work is to acceptable standards.
- Ensure accurate as-built records.
- Assist with the Professional registration of junior staff.
- Ensure conformance of the proposal to the clients requirements.
- Review documents prepared by junior staff.
- Manage project budgets in conjunction with the Project Manager.
- Management of project quality.
- Identify and secure new clients.
- Prepare and Review Technical Contract Documents.
- Prepare and Review Technical Design & documentation of projects involving the conveyance and treatment of both Water and Wastewater and associated technologies (e.g. water distribution, pump stations, pipelines and treatment plants)
