Our client in the engineering industry is looking for a financial manager to join their team in Midrand.
Position: Financial Manager
Industry: Engineering
Location: Midrand, Gauteng
Salary: Market related.
Qualifications & EXPERIENCE:
- BCom Degree/ relevant professional certification in Finance /Accounting.
- 10 years plus experience in financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and risk management.
- Experience in managing subsidiary accounts for different entities in Africa and exposure to forex transactions.
- Experience in the power and IPP industry will be an advantage.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Developing and implementing new operating systems and procedures for the financial section.
- Oversee financial operations and ensure efficiency.
- Develop and maintain financial policies and procedures that ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices.
- Create and monitor annual budgets and forecasts and provide regular updates to senior management.
- Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Analyse financial data and provide strategic insights and recommendations to senior management.
- Review and negotiate contracts, ensuring financial terms are favourable.
- Manage relationships with vendors, optimizing costs and ensuring value for money.
Managing the Finance Team:
- Assist in hiring and training of new employees on the financial operations.
- Participate in performance evaluation of finance staff and conduct counselling sessions to identify skill development needs.
