Your opportunity:
The Coordinator and Counselor is an integral member of the Learner Experience Unit (LEU) within the Office of Learner Affairs. This role acts as the first point of contact for learners who have experienced or witnessed mistreatment in the learning environment, providing case management and personal counseling.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing clinical support, counseling, and referrals to appropriate resources.
- Managing cases and responding to escalated complaints.
- Developing treatment plans based on therapeutic approaches.
- Interpreting and applying guidelines and policies.
- Updating and maintaining learner records.
- Facilitating workshops and seminars.
- Building relationships with campus resources and community health services.
- Handling complex information appropriately.
Essential Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in social work, occupational therapy, counselling/psychotherapy or equivalent.
- Minimum five (5) years of counseling experience in an educational context.
- Experience providing consultation on complex counseling matters.
- Experience working with health professional learners from diverse backgrounds.
- Experience facilitating educational workshops and training programs.
- Familiarity with trauma-informed approaches and equity frameworks.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite and Adobe Professional.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Good judgment, flexibility, and resourcefulness.
- Able to collaborate effectively with professional staff.
- Understanding of confidentiality principles.
