Engineering Planner
The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic, career-minded individual, with a strong work ethic, solid professional track record, and a commitment to teamwork, who holds related Tertiary Qualifications and has completed courses in Planning or a related field.
The following experience and skills are required, which must be demonstrated by submitting examples:
- 6 years’ experience in proven manufacturing experience in a similar position.
- Must have experience in a multi-project planning environment.
- Must have advanced knowledge working on MS Project Software, with an advantage to have exposure to Primavera or similar.
- Above average command in the full MS Office package.
- Experience in Waterfall, with an advantage to have exposure to Agile planning environments.
Key Responsibilities – amongst others and not limited to:
- Maintain consolidated Engineering Master Activity Schedule of all current projects.
- Produce weekly engineering resource capacity overview and forecast resource view reports and submit/present for review.
- Ensure clear links between Design Schedules and respective Project Schedules.
- Implement priority change knock-on impacts through Design Schedules to define resultant project knocks with the projects Planner.
- Assist to balance/smooth resource loadings and allocate work in conjunction with engineering managers (Mech & Elec).
- Convert Design WBSs defined by engineering teams to Schedules.
- Ensure Design Schedule is linked to Project Schedule deliverable work packages.
- Define knock-on reports for changes to planning and priorities.
- Define reports on Design OTD and loadings.
- Report on actual vs planned hours of "In Time" KPIs.
- Communicate weekly Design Schedule updates to PMs.
- Highlight overloads and flag overtime requirements.
- Monitor support time % usage.
- Define 12-month Design loading view.
- Development of project progress metrics and control techniques.
- Process weekly timesheets against preloaded activity budgeted hours (DWBS already loaded in D365) and communicate remaining hours per project.
Additional Skills Required:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Must be good at multitasking and be meticulous with exceptional attention to detail.
- Sense of urgency and ability to meet deadlines.
- Not a clock-watcher and must be willing to work overtime when required.
- Unendorsed Code 08 drivers’ license.
- Above average command in the full MS Office package, Project Management Software packages, and experienced in using ERP or similar company management software.
- Experience in waterfall and agile planning environments.
- Must possess a demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic team environment, under pressure, manage multiple tasks, and be goal-oriented.
- Strong leadership and communication skills to maintain relationships with junior staff right through to senior management team, and the client.
- Proven experience of contributing to and leading team meetings.
- A strong tactical individual with a proven track record in project management.
- Critical and analytical thinker with effective decision-making skills.
- Self-starter with the ability to maintain and improve processes.
- Ability to perform in a constantly changing environment.
