Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of mechanical experience with drills
- Advanced maintenance modules completed for Drill Rigs types
- 1 - 2 years of supervisory experience
Competencies/Skills:
- Strong mechanical skills
- Fault-finding abilities
- In-depth understanding of drill machines
- Comprehensive mechanical knowledge
- Familiarity with safety standards
- Knowledge of relevant legislation
- Understanding of EMS Policies and Procedures
Main Purpose of the Position:
Repair and maintain all drills on-site, ensuring adherence to set standards.
Major Roles and Responsibilities:
- Ensure strict adherence to safety standards and participate in safety meetings.
- Identify and suggest actions to improve safety and work performance.
- Report safety-related grievances or issues to the Safety Representative or Drill Production Manager.
- Promote safety awareness among team members by reinforcing work procedures and identifying unsafe practices.
- Identify and demarcate hazards that could impact safety and operations.
- Perform effective repairs, maintenance, and servicing of drills on-site.
- Record and track all parts and materials used; inform the Manager of parts that need to be ordered.
- Analyze test results and error messages to diagnose drill malfunctions.
- Observe and test the operation of drills using voltmeters and other devices to identify malfunctions.
- Clean, lubricate, and adjust parts, equipment, and machinery as needed.
- Disassemble drills and machinery to remove and repair parts, examining them for defects like breakages or excessive wear.
- Operate newly repaired drills to verify the accuracy of repairs and reassemble equipment after inspections, testing, or repairs.
- Repair and replace broken or malfunctioning components as necessary.
- Study blueprints and manufacturer manuals to ensure correct installation and operation of drills.
- Demonstrate equipment functions and features to drill operators.
- Complete all required documentation after tasks are completed.
- Conduct services as per manufacturer requirements.
- Identify opportunities for improvement and support operational team members when needed.
- Proactively identify risks and threats to the process.
