Job Overview
A technical expert is a highly skilled professional who solves technological and electrical challenges and oversees a strategic mission in the solution-based offerings of the company. They need to provide technical support to customers or other team members through their technical background in their industry. Furthermore, the technical expert would need to create new technological solutions or repair existing technological frameworks.
Duties & Responsibilities
Customer
- Establishing the technical needs of the customer and suggesting appropriate products.
- Explaining complex technical information to customers in a way that is easily understandable.
- Following up with customers and resolving any issues that may arise.
- Keeping customers informed about new technological products.
- Compiling proposals and reports related to technical products.
- Updating records of customer communications and contact information.
- Traveling to the customer's location to talk about our product range.
- Demonstrating the technical features and benefits of our products.
- Advising customers on technology upgrades and related products.
Team Planning
- Joint responsibility with management for development, implementation, and management at the account level of the Company's category management framework.
- Perform any other tasks given by the manager.
- Communicate plans for installations/supplies with the relevant departments.
Account Strategies and Business Planning
- Regular reporting, monitoring of the performance of plan vs actual measures, and drafting action plans in conjunction with sales to close the gap for achieving ROI.
- Manage all accounts through trading terms process and regular business meetings.
- Ensure your work is accurate, adequate, and adheres to the company policies and procedures.
- Ensure overall responsibility for the successful delivery of the agreed scope and measurements as per the client.
- Planning of weekly site visits and strategic sales plans.
- Functions in a lead capacity over staff employees on a regular basis but is not a direct supervisor; may assign, schedule, and monitor the work of staff.
- Receives clear and specific instructions and/or follows standardized instruction or procedures without ongoing supervision.
- Receives moderate to limited supervision working from objectives set by the BUM.
Budget Plans and Forecasting
- Budget allocation and forecasting by account in order to optimize ROI and to achieve the set short term and long term KPI’s.
- Ensuring that sales targets are consistently met.
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Grade 12
- Diploma in technology or a related field
- Valid driver’s license
- Computer Literacy - Good Understanding of Processes and Systems
- CRM
- Relationship Management
- Technical Experience
- Knowledge of Group Digitalization
- Problem Solving and Analytical skills
- Ability to multitask and manage more than one customer account
- Medically fit & the ability to travel
