Purpose Statement: The primary purpose of this role is to provide day-to-day discipline engineering expertise to the asset's operations organization, ensuring continued safe, reliable, and environmentally responsible operations. This involves utilizing process engineering principles to optimize production, bringing engineering rigor to fault finding and incident investigation, and serving as a direct link between the discipline engineering organization and the operated asset.
Accountabilities:
General:
- Provide daily support for process engineering within the asset, meeting operational demands set by the operation/terminal manager.
- Troubleshoot operational issues, identifying root causes and implementing improvements to prevent future occurrences.
- Define, plan, and execute process engineering aspects of the 30 and 90-day asset plans.
- Identify and manage specialist vendors, mobilizing them when necessary to support relevant process engineering discipline scopes.
- Serve as the gateway for maintenance and operations technical queries related to process engineering discipline.
- Define and write problem statements for modifications and ensure adherence to the gated Management of Change (MoC) process.
- Responsible for process optimization and adherence to relevant performance standards via the Inspection, Test, and Maintenance program.
- Provide process engineering expertise for asset risk assessment processes, including operational risk assessment and permit to work.
- Execute any engineering delegation of authority assigned under the Engineering Delegation of Authority Standard.
Discipline Specific (Process):
- Maintain as-built process models and asset-critical process documentation.
- Oversee asset Heat & Mass Balances and key equipment capacity details.
- Ensure integrity of SECE barriers owned by Process discipline.
- Manage key process documents such as PFDs and P&IDs.
- Lead investigations into production shortfalls and facilitate root cause analysis sessions.
- Provide process engineering input to other discipline scopes.

Competencies and Qualifications:
Key Technical Skills:
- Expert understanding of process engineering principles.
- Ability to resolve complex problems and drive innovative solutions.
- Proficiency in using engineering software and Microsoft Office tools.
- Experience with SAP, particularly SAP PM.
Education:
- Process (or Chemical) Engineering degree required.
- Chartered Engineer status.
Work Experience:
- Experience providing process engineering support in offshore or onshore facilities.
- Extensive knowledge of process and Major Accident Hazard (MAH) prevention practices.
- Familiarity with engineering documentation and relevant regulations.

- Internal: Engineering Discipline Leads, Maintenance Managers, Operations teams, etc.
- Responsible for preparing and recommending SORs of £1m p.a. (Brownfield, Maintenance, and Capital).
