Our client, a leading Wealth Management firm are looking for an experienced Paraplanner to join the team on a permanent basis.
As Paraplanner you will be responsible for providing support to the firm s advisers in completing non-client facing tasks in relation to the preparation and administration of recommendations being made.
Role Responsibilities:
- Liaising with advisers as appropriate
- Making sure any updates and reports are issued to clients in a timely manner
- Reviewing client investment portfolios, asset allocations, risk profiles etc. when requested.
- Preparing recommendations, including: Identifying and discussing areas with the adviser, undertaking relevant research and preparing documentation to be reviewed by the adviser.
- Implementing recommendations, including: Preparing suitability reports, completing applications / proposal forms and when instructed, making changes to a client s investment portfolio
- Preparing and maintaining client files, including:
- Support Financial Planners/Directors with ad hoc queries and tasks, including MI and research requests
- Making sure you follow the firm s compliance processes and procedures at all times in all areas, for example, (not exhaustive), complaints, financial crime, anti-money-laundering, anti-bribery, data security, data protection, conflicts of interest inducements, record keeping, best execution.
- Comply with the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000, the FCA s Conduct rules and Statements of Principle & Code of Practice and the relevant rules from the FCA at all times
- Keeping up to date with relevant regulatory, product, legislative and technical requirements
Key Skills & Experience:
- DipPFS (Level 4) is essential for this role. There is a further expectation that successful applicants for a paraplanner role will work towards achieving Chartered (Level 6) status.
- Excellent technical knowledge of pensions, investments and protection
- Comprehensive knowledge of the financial services market
- Proven ability to work well both as an individual and within a team
- Experience of producing high-quality, articulate and technical suitability reports and supporting research with strong compliance results
- Willingness and ability to respectfully challenge Financial Planners, where appropriate
- Having a positive culture attitude at all times
- Excellent attention to detail
- Excellent organisational skills
- General IT skills, including ability to ensure ongoing knowledge of platform enhancements
