Our client has an opportunity for a Telecoms Project Controller to join them on a 12 month contract. You will be actively managing the financial situation of production projects.
Role: Telecoms Project Controller
Location: Portsmouth - 3 days onsite
Hours: 37 per week
Clearance: BPSS required before a start date can be set
Hourly Rate: 30,00 per hour via Umbrella, inside IR35
What you'll be doing:
- To actively manage the financial situation of satellite production projects.
- To ensure all deliverables are met with regard to monthly reporting to Primes or to ensure accurate and timely reporting to the local Work Package Managers and Project Managers.
- To be the review point of all financially relevant contractual matters i.e. Supply Contracts, Works Orders or Change Notices.
- To manage the allocation of cost to work package and provide high quality variance analysis with inputs from Work Package Managers (WPMs) and Project Managers (PMs).
- Produce monthly financial reporting on project Key Performance Indicators comparing Actuals against Budget and Forecast.
- Hold regular cost reviews with Work Package Managers to capture Cost To Complete (CTC) encompassing labour costs, materials and equipment costs.
- Work alongside your projects to ensure on time financial milestone achievement & ensure the necessary process is followed.
- Analysis of project actual costs and correction of mis-bookings.
- Forecasting of project resourcing/manpower requirements by work package.
- Key subcontractor financial milestone reporting
- Tracking of major project non-quality events for communication to senior Management.
- Work closely with the other members of the Finance team to support the consolidation of the overall program financials.
- Respond to adhoc requests and contribute to future process innovations.
Requirements:
- Experience working in project control or project accounting
- Experience managing work packages and cost control
- Intermediate/Advanced MS Excel literacy.
- Knowledge of SAP
- Excellent team working skills.
- Good communication skills - an ability to make finance important to non-finance People.
- Project Based environment
- Highly numerate and computer literate.
Desirable Skills
- Experience from management accounting role within a project based environment.
- Another European Language (French / German) would be advantageous.
- Experience in a large, multi-national environment
- Experience of a working in multiple currencies
