We have a fantastic opportunity for a permanent
Electrical Operative to join our Walsall Street Lighting account (WS108JR)
The Role: The main function of an Electrical Operative is to install, maintain, and test electrical systems, especially street lighting. This role enhances public safety by ensuring well-lit roads and public areas, reducing accidents.
Supporting the Walsall Street Lighting account, Electrical Operatives ensure all systems meet standards, enhancing reliability and efficiency.
The standard hours of work are 40 hours per week (Monday - Friday, 7:30am - 4pm)
There will be additional overtime, and a call out rota of every 1 in 4 weeks (details to be confirmed at interview stage)
What you'll do: - Assist in the electrical testing of street lighting apparatus and cables.
- Install electrical equipment including LED lanterns.
- Excavate holes for foundations and complete required electrical test sheets and work records.
- Work at heights of up to 12 metres and perform physically demanding tasks including digging.
- Ensure regular contact with Statutory Undertakers' operatives and members of the public, and be responsible for the security of plant, tools, and materials.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations, including wearing all PPE, and be prepared to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

What you'll bring: Essential: - Full UK driving licence (HGV License preferable)
- Must be able to work outdoors in challenging weather conditions
Desirable: - Experienced working with electrical installations within the public realm & highways
- City & Guilds Level 2 or equivalent in Electrical Installation
- Have relevant CSCS / ECS Card
