Job Title: Materials Finisher / Labourer
Location: Long Eaton, Nottinghamshire

Job type: Full Time - Permanent. 37 hours per week 8.00am to 4.30pm Mon Thurs (30 mins lunch), 8.00am to 1.00pm Fri (no lunchbreak).
The Role:
Working within the Machine Shop, this is a two-part role to support the smooth operation of the factory. The primary responsibility of the role is materials finisher. The main duties are to carry out surface finishing of thin gauge sheet-metal components, welded assemblies and machined components which are made in our Machine Shop. This prepares them for in-house painting or external finishing operations in line with the schedule provided by the Machine Shop Manager.
The role will involve using vibratory hand tools and associated equipment to ensure surfaces are suitable for finishing processes. Products should be completed in a timely manner and prepared to internal quality standards.
You will also take responsibility for the movement of parts between areas of the factory as required, completing regular basic maintenance tasks and keeping the factory clean and tidy by removing waste and recycling. You will also provide support for routine maintenance activities that may arise from time to time.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparation of laser cut blanks prior to subsequent manufacturing operations
- Production of high-quality finishes on sheet-metal and machined components ready for painting or external finishing processes (anodising or plating) using hand operated equipment
- Shot blasting components before or after manufacturing/assembly processes
- Self-inspection of all work produced
- Machine cleaning and maintaining coolant levels in the CNC machines within the Machine Shop
- Keeping the factory clean and tidy, (clearing aisles, emptying bins, keeping external areas clear, etc), emptying of waste and recycling, ensuring bins/skips are utilised to maximum capacity

- Ability to work on own initiative with minimal supervision
- Good timekeeping with the ability to meet deadlines
Desirable;
- Experience in material finishing
- Full Driving License
- Shotblasting experience
