Job Title: Business Development Manager - Consumer Goods
Location: Remote
Salary: £45,000 + Car Allowance
The Client
Our client are the worlds largest HVAC manufacturer and fastest growing brand of HVAC products in the UK, and in supporting further growth are looking to expand our team in many of the key areas of our business.
We are currently recruiting for a Consumer Goods Business Development Manager to drive forward our clients air source heat pump sector by generating new opportunities with retailers whilst also supporting existing accounts.
The Role of Business Development Manager - Consumer Goods
This role will have a key focus on building relationships with new and existing client bases liaising with customers that spend £50k to £1m per annum.
This person will have the full support of an applications team, order processing team, technical and training support as well as an award-winning marketing team to give them all the resources necessary to be successful.
Key Responsibilities of the Business Development Manager - Consumer Goods:
- Generating opportunities face-to-face, over the phone and via events to bring on new accounts.
- Mapping out a region or industry to target with key customers and contacts with a goal of bringing on new business selling Portable Air Conditioning Units and De-humidifiers.
- Attending pre-booked new business meetings.
- Account management - Build relationships with existing accounts to ensure they are receiving the best possible service, and increase account spend year-on-year.
- Speaking with retailers and distributors with a view to them stocking the companies products.
- Identify and visit untapped markets or customers where the Midea's products or services can add value.
- Present a weekly plan of activity which can be reviewed each Friday.
- Record all activity on a database that can be uploaded to our new CRM.
- Other activity as agreed with line manager not exclusive too but including being involved with training events and marketing campaigns.
Person Specification
- Experience of selling into retailers of Electrical & DIY Products
- Good technical understanding of Air Source & the HVAC market including the Client's and competitor products.
- Comfortable and motivated to actively make outbound calls to win more business.
- Able to develop new business opportunities organically.
- Understanding of HVAC market trends and clients' changing needs.
- Excellent customer service skills, with strong and proven sales and negotiation abilities.
- Able to build, manage and review reports based on activity and sales success.
- Experience of submitting detailed customer business case proposals to line management.
- Experience working within AC / ASHP industry
- Experience of meeting and excelling against sales targets.
