ITP are excited to be working in partnership with a leading, highly regulated manufacturing business in Sheffield, as they look to appoint a Quality Engineer to join their growing team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled and driven engineer to take on a pivotal role within the business, working to maintain high standards of product quality and compliance in a fast-paced, manufacturing environment.
In this role, you'll work closely with the Quality Manager to ensure the site consistently meets regulatory and industry standards, while providing key support to the operational teams to drive quality improvement and performance across the business. You will also maintain a strong presence on the shop floor, ensuring that production quality remains at the highest levels, and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement across all aspects of quality management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with compliance with all relevant industry standards, regulations, and customer requirements
- Maintain and improve the Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring its effectiveness and alignment with business needs
- Investigate and resolve quality issues through root cause analysis, implementing corrective and preventive actions
- Monitor and evaluate supplier performance through regular audits and assessments, ensuring quality expectations are consistently met
- Lead and support both internal and external audits (e.g., ISO, regulatory), managing documentation and corrective actions to achieve successful outcomes
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify risks to product quality and safety, driving risk mitigation strategies through the design control and product lifecycle processes
- Act as a key point of contact for quality-related issues, providing guidance and support to all departments within the business
Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience as a Quality Engineer within a highly regulated manufacturing environment
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify root causes and implement effective solutions
- Experience of conducting audits to ISO9001/AS9100/IATF16949/ISO13485 standards is highly desirable
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong working relationships across the business
- Attention to detail and a proactive approach to quality management
- Ability to lead investigations, influence change, and support a culture of continuous improvement
